"The day the last panda died" (Projecte Ingenu) - Open rehearsal April 2022
Projecte Ingenu opens the creative process of its first show of the No-Time Trilogy
Introducció
In 2014 the last panda just died. They are a lazy species and have decided to stop breeding. They have decided not to die like the planet. They have made a species pact. But science does not let them become extinct. The most recent scientific advances have made it possible for pandas to survive, making it possible to gestate an embryo outside the womb. Artificial gestation in mammals is already a reality. Will we humans be next on the list? Are we seeing the end of our species or perhaps the birth of a new hybrid species? The public enters a natural science museum with the help of an audio guide in the form of wireless headphones and discovers this dystopian future. The public visits the exhibition on the "last natural mammals" and the showcases, little by little, begin to come to life. They slowly discover that the exhibit that told them about pandas now tells them about themselves. Of human beings. The last natural mammals.
You can now watch the open rehearsal of the second residence of the show in this same space, in the Media tab.
Detalls
Proyecto Ingenu understands theater as an immersive experience and its proposals move away from conventional narratives. For the show "The day the last panda died", which will premiere at the next Fira de Tàrrega 2022, we want to rethink the public-artist relationship by proposing a hybrid staging between installation and theater. The public will walk freely through the scenic space, converted into a museum, with the help of an audio guide in wireless headphones. The scenic space will be made up of mobile structures that the performers will modify and move through the audience. The electronic music generated live and using the elements of the scenery as sound resources, will transform this audio guide into a soundtrack that will add new layers of meaning.
With the aim of opening the results of the second artistic residence of the creative process of this piece to professional audiences, we go hand in hand with Bit Lab Cultural cooperative to offer the virtual retransmission of the open rehearsal that we will carry out in Tàrrega on April 22 at 12:30. The broadcast will take place with Decidim.PlataformESS, an experimental digital space that aims to offer an ethical and sustainable alternative to large platform capitalism companies, allowing artists and creators to have control over the technological tools they need to virtualize their plays.
In this session, of about 40 minutes, we will represent several fragments of the work, at the present moment of maturation, in two complementary formats. The first will offer a 'curated' view where the viewer's attention will be focused on those spaces where the main action takes place. The second, a 'multi-camera' view where the viewer herself can see all the cameras simultaneously and can focus her attention on those details that interest her most. In both formats, the viewer will be able to pause, move forward and rewind the action to review specific sequences. The enabled virtual space also serves as a documentary repository of the creative process, to archive and revisit the different moments afterwards.
